For the second year in a row the John Adams Girls Cross Country team has advanced to the IHSAA Semi State Meet at New Haven. The girls finished in 4th place at the Elkhart Regional at Oxbow Park on Saturday. In a meet that had all weather elements including rain, sun and warmth, and then clouds, the girls competed and performed with some of the best teams in the area.
The top five teams in the regional and the next 10 individuals from non advancing teams move on to the semi state meet next week.
The 4th place finish was led of by Senior Lane McDonald who ran a 20:10 in the race which was enough for 15th place. Also placing in the top 20 and receiving awards was Junior Olivia Wheeler who finished in 20th place with a time of 20:36.
They were closely followed by Adiyah Williams (22nd), Niki Hakimzadeh (35th), Maddie Mischak (40th), Kate O’Brien (46th), and Ivie Skube (55th).
The girls will compete next Saturday October 21 at The Plex at IPFW at 1:45 PM.
