Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track Shines at Hoosier State Relays Finals

The Lady Eagles competed in the Hoosier State Relays Finals down at Indiana University on Saturday afternoon. With 4 points, the Eagles finished tied for 29th.

Senior Joselyn Mwenifumbo scored those 4 points in the 60 Meter Hurdles. Mwenifumbo advanced to the finals and ran in 9.29. That performance was good for 5th place.


Mwenifumbo was also in the Long Jump. While she did not advance to the finals she did jump 16’8.25” and finished in 16th Place.

Freshman Alecia Parker, still the number 1 freshman shot putter in the state threw 35’2.5” in the Shot Put which put Parker in 15th Place.

Finally the 4×400 Relay of Ali Mihut, Mwenifumbo, Jordan Mihut, and Devyn Moore finished out the day for the Eagles. The relay ran a season best time of 4:14.30 which put the Eagles in 14th place.

The Eagles close out the indoor portion of the season on a positive note and plan to use this momentum as they enter the outdoor season which begins this week.

The Eagles will compete again this Wednesday in a Boy/Girl Triple Header versus New Prairie and Michigan City High School at Michigan City.
