Boys Varsity Track · Boys Track and Field Competes at Regional, Return to State Meet


The boys Track & Field Team are returning to the IHSAA State Meet after a year hiatus. The Eagles finished tied for 17th place with 12 points. The top 3 finishers in each event qualify for the State Meet next week at Indiana University in Bloomington.

Milton Toliver was crowned the Regional Champion in the 400 Dash, dominating the race, winning in 49.05, 0.74 seconds in front of the next place finisher. Toliver will advance to the State Meet. Toliver was also the top finisher from any South Bend School at the meet.

Also in the 400 Dash was Jaylen Wright who came out fast in the first heat to run 51.81 finishing in 8th place.

Toliver was also a finalist in the 200 Dash, finishing in 8th place.

Also competing this evening was Tommy Han who jumped 11’6” in the Pole Vault and the 4×400 Relay. The 4×400 consisting of Jaylen Wright, Shannon Clark, Ngor Agwick, and Jonathan Ngangi ran in 3:32.13.

The Eagles that qualify for the State Meet will compete again on Saturday June 2 in the IHSAA State Finals at Indiana University.
