The IHSAA State Track and Field Meet showcases the best of the best in the State of Indiana. The Lady Eagles again performed well at the IHSAA State Meet on Friday showing that they belong with the best, finishing tied for 36th with 6 points. Both Alecia Parker and Joselyn Mwenifumbo continued the tradition of excellence for John Adams at the State Meet. John Adams finished higher than any other team in the Northern Indiana Conference.
Parker was competing in her 1st State Meet, qualifying in the Shot Put. She threw the shot 37’9.” Her throw was good for 19th place and she beat the competition to be the top freshman thrower in the State this year.
In her fourth State Meet, Joselyn Mwenifumbo reached the podium once again. She began her night in the 100 Hurdles finishing in 4th place in 14.41, a new personal best in the 100 Hurdles.
Later in the evening after an hour long weather delay, Mwenifumbo set another personal best running 45.79 in the 300 Hurdles, which was good for 15th place. As she has all year she has continued to bring her times down in all her events on the track.
Both Joselyn and Alecia represented John Adams well, showing that hard work, dedication, and determination will get them to be with the very best.
Great work Eagles!
