Multiple Teams · Cross Country Sets Personal Bests at New Haven Classic


The cross country team traveled to Fort Wayne to compete in the New Haven Classic on Saturday. With their performances at the meet, a majority of the Eagles set new personal bests as a result of the meet.

All of the girls ran in the same race today, competing in the AAA (Large School) Division. The team finished in 10th place with 292 points. Maddie Mischak finished first for the Eagles in a time of 20:31. Mischak finished in 33rd place. Ivie Skube also placed for the Eagles, setting a new personal best of 20:58, finishing in 43rd place. Also running for Adams was Kate O’Brien (63rd), Elese Anderson (127th), Grace Dawson (131st), Mary Claire Elliot (140th), Claire Stowe (141st), Hannah Connell (149th), Alessia Paolini (185th), Kara Kison (189th), Italia Ramos (198th), Jacqueline Segundo (203rd), and Ruby Delgado (205th).

The boys team was divided into a varsity and a reserve (JV) race, with the Eagles competing in the AAA division as well. Adams finished in 17h place with 504 points. The top finisher for Adams was William Neubauer who set a new personal best of 17:05. Neubauer was just outside of the top 50, finishing in 59th place. Along with Neubauer was Amar Beganovic (124th), Alexander Macharaschwili (130th), Brendan Quinn (136th), Jackson Rancourt (141st), George Ruscio Atkinson (148th), Keion Taylor (153rd), Colby Szymczak (155th), Dylan Hockx (160th), and Josh Evans (161st). Kierran O’Brien, Dylan Whitlow, and Cole Evans all ran in the reserve race.

Adams will compete again next Saturday as they begin post season action in the Northern Indiana Conference Championship Meet at Oxbow Park.
