There were highs and lows for the Adams Volleyball team on Saturday. The highs came in the morning when the team ran past SB Clay in the semifinals of the 4A LaPorte Sectionals. Adams beat the Colonials in three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-14, and 25-14. Todays victory was the second time this year the Eagles defeated the Colonials.
Leading the Eagles through the semifinals were Brielle Wilkins who had 11 kills, kaite Shrems who had 8 kills and 3 aces, CeCe Sheffler who had 7 kills, RyAnna Latender with 5 blocks, Hattie Hoskinski with 4 aces, and Lauren Salas with 3 aces.
The victory in the semifinals set the Eagles up for a matchup with Penn High School in the Sectional Championship final.
Unfortunately that is where the Eagles hit the low for the day. Adams was unable to capitalize on the momentum from the morning to take down the Lady Kingsmen in the championship game in the evening. Adams lost to Penn in three sets 13-25, 7-25, and 13-25.
With the loss the Eagles season comes to an end. Adams finishes the season with a record of 16-15.
