Three individuals from the boys and girls cross country team were vying for a trip to the State Meet on Saturday as they competed in the IHSAA New Haven Semi State. Will Neubauer, Maddie Mischak, and Ivie Skube all were aiming for a PR and a trip to Terre Haute.
The girls started things out first for the day. Mischak was off to a good start before falling around the first kilometer of the race. She was able to get back up and make her way through the pack but was unable to set a personal best. Mischak finished in 77th place, running 20:52. Skube was able to run a time of 21:39, having a difficult time navigating through traffic at the narrow points of the race, finishing in 123rd place.
For the boys Neubauer experienced some of the same troubles as Skube did in the previous race with traffic on certain parts of the course. Neubauer finished in 103rd place with a time of 17:29.
All three runners were unable to advance as individuals to the IHSAA State Meet next week and concluded their impressive season.
Congratulations on a good season Eagles!
