The Lady Eagles came to play on Thursday night when they hosted the Warriors of Wawasee in non conference play. After a slow start to the season, Adams played arguably the best game they have had all season, defeating Wawasee 42-33. The Eagles had control of the game from the start, never looking back and keeping the Warriors trailing from the first quarter on.
Makiah McCain had a break out game as the teams leading scorer, finishing the night with 14 points. Both Maria Besario and Laila Williams added 9 points each, helping to put the game away for Adams. Loryn Higginbotham had 6 points, and both Madylin Bauer and Whitney Marshall had 2 points a piece.
The win was a much needed victory for Adams as they begin to reach the heart of the schedule before winter break. The win is also the first win for Coach Dawn Huff at the school.
The Eagles have another game tonight at Bremen High School.
In the junior varsity game, Adams fell to Wawasee with a score of 27 – 16. The leading scorer for Adams was Marissa Shelton, who ended the night with 5 points against the Warriors.
The Eagles have a season record of 1-5 and 0-4 in the Northern Indiana Conference. Adams looks to get their first NIC win tonight.
