The tradition of Friday nights during the winter months spent in the high school gym in Indiana returned to Hadaway’s Shack on Friday night as the boys basketball team played in their first game of the year, hosting the Plymouth Pilgrims. The Eagles played well from the first tip off to the final buzzer, playing well as a team, and feeding off of the home crowd, Adams defeated Plymouth 67-51.
The hottest player of the game was undoubtably Senior Guard Ben Foster who scored 33 points in the win. Foster was not only the leading scorer for Adams but also the game. Foster had 10 two’s, 3 three’s and was 4 for 9 from the free throw line. Foster’s dominant performance helped put the game away for the Eagles.
Quentez Columbus scored 11 points, Shak Johnson had 7, Chick Worsham and Lynn King both had 6 points, and Sydney Jefferies finished the night with 4 points.
Trailing at the end of the first quarter, Adams was able to take the lead going throughout the second and going into the half. The Eagles then began to run away with a nice run at the end of the third and into the fourth.
The record for Adams is now 1-1. The Eagles will play again on Saturday afternoon at Fort Wayne Northrop. The Eagles will tip off at 4:30 PM.
