The Adams wrestling team competed on Saturday in the Valparaiso Wrestling Invitational, taking on 5 teams throughout the day. The Eagles went 1-4 against the competition. Adams defeated Boone Grove HS 53-24 in their only victory of the day and lost to Kankakee Valley 30-47, Hammond Gavit 9-63, Hebron 35-42, and Valparaiso 24-58. It should be noted that the Eagles were competitive in many of the weight classes and most of their points lost came from forfeits.
Several individuals had a very good day at Valparaiso. Joe Phillips went undefeated in the Heavyweight class, going 5-0. Henry Wroblewski (106), Joshua Zahl (138), Dominique Clark (152), and Horrace Hill (195) all went 4-1. Ramon Lenoir went 2-3 at 182, Baker Hasan went 1-4 at 160, Ian Donihue was 0-2 at 170, Jonathan Thomas was 2-0 at 220, Emmanuel David went 0-3 at 220, and Chykeem Crawford went 1-3 at 170.
The Eagles will return to action on Thursday when they continue Northern Indiana Conference action when they travel to take on SB Clay High School.
The record for the team is now 2-9 and 0-2 in the NIC.
