Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys Swimming Wins First Meet of Year

The boys swimming team earned their first meet of the year on Tuesday night, defeating the Marian Knights in Northern Indiana Conference competition. The Eagles won with a score of 100-73.

Adams was victorious in four individual events and in two relays. In several events, the Eagles finished 1-2 and even 1-2-3 in another.

Sam Burns and Jakob Forsythe finished first and second in the 200 Freestyle. Burns won in 2:08.04 and Forsythe finished in 2:11.07. In the 100 Butterfly Burns won again in 1:03.97 and Brendan Quinn finished second with a time of 1:11.63. James Bramlett was the winner of the 100 Breaststroke, swimming 1:12.44.

It was the 500 Freestyle where the Eagles finished first, second, and third. Forsythe won in 6:08.36. Jonathan Nerenberg finished in 6:16.21 and Alexander Mills swam 7:00.96.

In the relays Adams won the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay. The 200 Relay was swam by Forsythe, Burns, Kenneth Weston, and Joe Karban. The relay won with a time of 1:43.29. The 400 Relay won with a time of 3:48.33 and consisted of Burns, Forsythe, Quinn, and Joseph Shrader.

With the first win of the year the Eagles are now 1-2 overall as well as in the NIC.

The Eagles will swim again on Thursday night when they travel to New Prairie High School
