The South Bend City Meet was held on Saturday morning and afternoon at Riley High School. The Adams Lady eagles finished 3rd in the meet with 243 points.
The lone City Champion was Lindsay Gizzi in the 1 Meter Diving, where she won with 441.25 points. Katie Hensell finished second with 385.05 points, and finally Claire Butler finished in 4th with 276.35 points.
Eamin Lynch, Ivie Skube, Melany Morales-Garibay, and Lindsay Collins finished 4th in the 200 Medley Relay, finishing in 2:09.45. The second Adams relay in the event finished 8th. Team members Cate Garber, Izzy Frank, Skye Peck, and Sade Williams swam 2:36.73.
Morales-Garibay also finished 7th in the 200 Freestyle in 2:20.04. Tania Gonzalez finished in 9th (2:25.64), and Olivia Thompson finished in 10th (2:36.63). In the 200 Individual Medley Lynch took 8th place in 2:37.28 and teammate Peck finished in 12th (3:16.09). Collins finished 7th in the 50 Freestyle in 28.93. Garber swam 31.51 (11th), and Williams was right behind at 31.52 (12th).
Morales-Garibay finished 7th again in the 100 Butterfly, swimming 1:12.99. Skube finished in 8th place (1:15.22) and Thompson in 12th place (1:28.55). In the 100 Freestyle Collins took 10th place with 1:04.85. She was joined by Williams in 13th place (1:09.25) and Mary Cate Baer in 15th (1:14.68). Tania Gonzalez finished 6th in the 500 Freestyle in 6:45.24. Corwynne Pugh swam 7:18.22 good for 8th place and Rabija Begic finished 10th with a 7:38.89.
Two relays placed in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Garber, Thompson, Williams, and Gonzalez finished in 5ht place with a time of 2:04.48. Peck, Frank, Liora Wulfsohn, and Claire Wright swam 2:14.86, good for 7th place.
In the 100 Backstroke Lynch swam 1:09.65 finishing in 6th place. Baer finished in 10th place (1:28.65) and Aliyah Armstrong in 11th place (1:38.86). In the final individual event, Skube finished in 8th place in the 100 Breaststroke (1:23.98). Frank finished in 15th place (1:50.50), and Carissa Merrill finished in 16th place (1:52.88)
In the 400 Freestyle Relay, Garber, Wright, Thompson, and Wulfsohn finished in 6th place with a time of 4:56.73.
The Eagles held their own against the dominant St Joe and was very competitive with second place team Riley as well. Many of the individuals and relays continue to improve as the season progresses and the winter break quickly approaches.

Adams will swim again on Tuesday in a Northern Indiana Conference matchup at Mishawaka High School. The meet Tuesday is a coed meet.
