Facing the #1 team in class 1A in the state on Saturday afternoon, the Lady Eagles struggled to score throughout the first quarter, eventually falling to the Blazers 67 – 33.
The Eagles were finally able to find their grove in the second quarter, led by Loryn Higginbotham. Higginbotham who ended the game with 15 points had 13 of those 15 come in the second quarter, trying to bring the Eagles back into the game.
The effort was not enough as the Blazers were unfortunately able to shut down much of the Adams offense again in the third and fourth quarters despite the best efforts all around.
Maria Besario scored 8 points. Laila Williams scored all four of her points from the free throw line. Bre Woods scored 3 points, Marissa Shelton 2 points, and McKenna Leichty finished with 1 point.
The Junior Varsity team was able to win in their matchup earlier in the afternoon. Adams won 29-24 and were led by leading scorer Mayah Allen who scored 10 points.
Adams falls to 2-10 overall and 1-8 in the Northern Indiana Conference.
The Eagles will play again on Thursday night at home against SB Clay HS.
