The South Bend Clay Colonials were no match for the Adams Eagles Boys Swim team on Tuesday night. The Eagles won the meet, sweeping Clay in every single event, resulting in a 139 – 38 victory for Adams. With the win Adams moves to 2 and 4 both overall and in the Northern Indiana Conference.
In the individual events, Brendan Quinn came away the big winner, winning both the 200 Freestyle (2:04.73) and the 500 Freestyle (5:50.95). Quinn was also a member of the winning 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle Relays. In the 200 Medley Relay Quinn was joined by Elijah Limon, James Bramlett, and Jakob Forsythe. The team swam 1:58.51. The 200 Freestyle Relay of Quinn, Bramlett, Jonathan Nerember, and Mateo Rey won in 1:45.45.
Besides the relays, Bramlett was also the winner of the 100 Breaststroke in 1:14.00. Nermeberg was also an individual winner in the 200 Individual Medley, winning with a time of 2:29.15.
Peter Nagy was the winner of the 50 Freestyle (28.56), Samuel Burns won the 100 Fly (1:02.75), Kenneth Weston was the winner of the 100 Freestyle (56.10), Joseph Shrader won the 100 Backstroke (1:05.70), and Jaylen Wright was the winner in diving the night before (141.75).
The last event of the evening, the 400 Freestyle Relay was swam by Limon, Nerenberg, Vincent Calhoun, and Orlando David in 4:28.89.
The Eagles take some time off from competition for the winter break and will compete again when classes resume in January. Adams will host Penn in a coed meet on Tuesday January 8.
