Boys Varsity Basketball · Boys Basketball Begins Competition at Wettig Tournament

The boys basketball team began competition at the annual Wettig Tournament hosted by Richmond High School on Thursday afternoon. In the first game of the tournament the Eagles played the Connersville Spartans. The Eagles were leading through the first quarter and were only down by three at the half but the Spartans fast pace offense was too much for the Eagles to handle as the teams came out of the half. Connersville scored 43 points in the second half, eventually getting the win 64-50.

With the loss Adams moves to the consolation bracket of the tournament.

The leading scorer for Adams and the game was Quentez Columbus, who had 20 points. Columbus was also 3 for 5 from the free throw line as well. Ben Foster had 12 points, Shak Johnson scored 10 points, Sydney Jefferies had 6 points, and Chuck Worsham had 2 points.

Adams will play again on Friday at 10:30 AM when they take on Indianapolis Homeschool.

The Wettig Tournament is played annually at Richmond High School and features 16 teams and 32 games over three days.
