The boys basketball team hosted their first home game in several weeks on Saturday night, hosting the #5 ranked Elkhart Memorial Chargers. The Eagles did not let the high rank get to them as the game started off. Adams took control of the game early and had a 19 – 9 lead after the first quarter and was leading 27 – 17 at the half. Unfortunately for Adams Elkhart Memorial returned to the court hot, outscoring Adams 29-12 in the third quarter alone. The Eagles were never able to get back into it, eventually falling to the Chargers 73 – 86.
Shak Johnson was the leading scorer for Adams with 17 points and going 7 for 10 from the free throw line. Sydney Jefferies scored 9 points, Lynn King had 7 points, Quentez Columbus had 6 points, Chuck Worsham finished with 5 points and Ben Foster scored 4 points. Worsham was 3 for 5 from the line and Foster went 2 for 2 shooting free throws as well.
Adams falls to a season record of 5-9.
The Eagles look to get out of their current slump when they take on South Bend Washington next Friday night at Washington.
