Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys Swimming and Diving Falls to Penn

Boys swimming and diving hosted Penn High School on Tuesday night, the same night the team honored its senior members. Tuesday’s meet was the first meet back for the Eagles since the winter break.

Seniors James Bramlett, Sam Burns, Jakob Forsythe, Mateo Rey, Orlando David, Maxwell Swanson, Joseph Schrader, Joseph Karban, Vincent Calhoun, and Kenneth Weston were all honored prior to the start of the meet.

The Eagles swam well in all of their events, but it was not good enough for the team as they fell to the Kingsmen with a score of 40-146.

The Eagles finished third place to Penn in many events throughout the evening. The 200 Medley relay finished in third place in 1:54.12. The team was made up of all seniors, Joseph Schrader, James Bramlett, Sam Burns, and Jakob Forsythe.

Bramlett also finished third in the 200 Individual Medley in 2:37.99. Schrader was the third place finisher in the 100 Freestyle. He swam the event in 56.46. Burns also finished third in the 100 Backstroke in 1:07.62. Burns was also the fourth place finisher in the 100 Fly as well (1:02.17).

Other third place finishers for Adams were Mateo Rey in the 50 Freestyle (24.42), Brendan Quinn in the 500 Freestyle (5:44.27), and both the 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle Relays. The 200 Relay of Burns, Forsythe, Schrader and Rey finished in 1:40.65. The 400 Relay of Rey, Bramlett, Kenneth Weston, and Ethan Marvel finished in 4:11.78.

The Eagles will compete again on Thursday at home when they host Elkhart Memorial in non conference action.

The team’s record for the year is 2-5 overall and in the Northern Indiana Conference as well.
