Girls Varsity Swimming · Girls Swimming and Diving Hosts Senior Nights, Loses to Penn

The girls swimming and diving team honored their two seniors on Tuesday night prior to the team hosting the Penn Lady Kingsmen in their final duel meet of the year.

Seniors Corwynne Pugh and Claire Butler were honored before the start of the meet.


Despite the score of the meet and the event results, the team has continued to improve as the season begins to wind down.

Adams lost with a final score of 40 – 146.


The highest finish for the Eagles on Tuesday was in the final event of the evening, the 400 Freestyle Relay, which finished second in a time of 4:15.96. The relay consisted of team members Melany Morales-Garibay, Lyndsay Collins, Tania Gonzalez, and Eamin Lynch.

There were also many third place finishers for the Eagles as well. Collins finished third in the 50 Freestyle (28.47), Lynch was the third place finisher in the 100 backstroke, Ivie Skube finished third in the 100 Breaststroke (1:25.09), and Katie Hensell in Diving (202.00).

Both the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay finished in third as well. The Medley Relay of Morgan Baumgart, Cate Garber, Skye Peck, and Sade Williams swam in 2:21.82. The Freestyle Relay of Baumgart, Williams, Garber, and Gonzalez swam 2:03.24.

The Eagles now have a season record of 9-6 overall and 6-4 in the Northern Indiana Conference.

Adams will compete this Saturday in the Northern Indiana Conference Meet hosted by Penn High School.
