It had been nearly two weeks since the Eagles played a game, and after rescheduling due to weather three times, the Eagles were finally bale to hit the court again on Saturday afternoon. Playing a Northern Indiana Conference game at home, the Eagles took on the Jimtown Jimmies.
Being off for that long might hurt other teams, but the Eagles were eager to face the Jimmies on the court and return to their winning ways. It was a full team effort for Adams as they went on to defeat Jimtown 68-61. Four Adams players scored in the double digits and the team shot an impressive 88% from the free throw line. With the win the Eagles are ready to take on the rest of the schedule as the team enters the last month of regular season play.
Quentez Columbus led the scoring for the team last night with 16 points. Columbus was 2 for 2 from the free throw line and score two 3 point baskets as well. Shak Johnson added 15 points for the team and went 5 for 6 from the line. Sydney Jefferies score 14 points including two 3 point baskets and 2 of his 3 free throw attempts. Lynn King shot one 3 point buckets, was 4 for 4 for free throws, and ended the afternoon with 11 points. Chuck Worsham scored 6 points, Ben Foster scored 4, and TeVaughn Columbus scored 2.
Adams improves their overall season record now to 7-9 and are 5-2 in the NIC.
The Eagles will continue NIC action next Thursday at John Glenn High School and return home next Saturday for non conference play against Michigan City.
