On Saturday afternoon while it was cold outside in South Bend, the action was hot inside the pool at SB Riley High School for the 2019 Boys Swimming Northern Indiana Conference Championships. The Adams Eagles finished 8th place overall in the conference with 134 points.
In the meet, the top 16 in each event score, with relays scoring double the points of individual events.
The top finish for Adams on Saturday came in the final event of the afternoon, the 400 Freestyle Relay. The team recorded a 5th place finish in the event, finishing in 3:35.08. Mateo Rey, Brendan Quinn, Kenneth Weston, and Samuel Burns swam the relay for Adams. They were not the only relay for the team to score in the event however. Aleksander Sergeant, Jonathan Nerenberg, James Bramlett, and Jakob Forsythe finished in 14th place.
The 200 Freestyle Relay swam by Joseph Schrader, Jospeh Karban, Forsythe, and Weston finished in 8th place with a time of 1:41.75. In the opening relay of the event, Schrader, Burns, Bramlett, and Rey swam 1:51.13 finishing 11th in the 200 Medley Relay.
The individuals for the Eagles also had some impressive finishes as well. Brendan Quinn placed 13th in the 200 Freestyle (2:00.06) and later 10th in the 500 Freestyle (5:38.75). Forsythe also placed in the 500 as well, finishing 16th (5:58.34). Samuel Burns placed 9th in the 200 Individual Medley (2:15.15) and 11th in the 100 Butterfly (1:01.10). Jaylen Wright placed 16th in Diving, finishing with a score of 209.75. In the 50 Freestyle, Mateo Rey finished 9th (53.06) and Kenneth Weston finished in 16th (55.45). James Bramlett finished 13th in the 100 Breststroke (1:02.78) and finally Joseph Schrader finished in 9th in the 100 Backstroke (1:02.78).

The boys will have some time off before they compete again on February 14 in the IHSAA Sectionals.
