Boys Varsity Basketball · Boys Basketball Ends Season in Sectional Championship Game

The boys basketball team was going for its 14th Sectional Championship on Saturday night, taking on the Penn Kingsmen. In a game that would go back and forth all night, the Eagles and Kingsmen battled it out for superiority, with the Eagles coming just short, losing 63-60.

Like many championship games, the action did not disappoint. Both teams showed of their athletic skills, with neither team ready to give in to the other. Adams and Penn would go back and forth with each other controlling the lead of the game, with Adams leading by three at the half. With a buzzer beater by Lynn King at the end of the third quarter, Adams looked to put the game away as the team entered the fourth quarter. As the energy in the gym intensified, the Eagles played with all of their effort, but was not enough to survive a very late game push by Penn who were crowned the Sectional Champions.

Senior Shak Johnson was the leading scorer for Adams, finishing the game and his high school career with 20 points. Sydney Jefferies was the second Adams’ player in double digits, scoring 19 points.

Quentez Columbus scored 8 points, Chuck Worsham ad 6 points, Lynn King scored 4 and Ben Foster ended with 3 points.

The team finishes the year with a record of 14-13. The team however played much better than the record shows. All throughout the year the Eagles have faced off against some tough teams and have grown as players from each experience on the court, showing improvement week in and week out.

Congratulations on an excellent season and Go Eagles!
