The girls track and field team hosted Elkhart Central and Washington High Schools on Tuesday evening, opening up Northern Indiana Conference action for the 2019 season. As a team, the Eagles split with Central and Washington, finishing in second with 56 points.
Adams athletes took first place in four individual events.
Anna Borkowski took first in the 1600 Run in a time of 5:51. Borkowski would go on to finish in second during the 800 Run later in the meet as well. Shanell Exum won the 300 Hurdles in 51.09. Maddie Mischak finished first in the 3200 Run, running 11:57. Mischak was the runner up of the 1600 Run earlier in the meet as well. In the field, Alecia Parker took home first in shot put, throwing 35’ 0.5” Parker was the runner up in Discus as well.
Also finishing as runner ups as individuals for Adams was Brianna Woods in the 400 Dash and Shania Chatman in High Jump. All three Eagles relays, the 4×100, 4×400, and 4×800 finished in second place as well.
Adams is 3-1 in the outdoor season and begin the NIC schedule at 1-1.
The team competes again on Saturday at the Marion Relays in Marion, Indiana.
