Girls Junior Varsity Tennis, Girls Varsity Tennis · Girls Tennis Falls in First Home Match of Season


It was a cool and breezy evening for the Girls Tennis team on Thursday as they hosted the first home match of the year against non conference opponent Concord. The Eagles would eventually fall to the Minutemen 1-4 but the Eagles fought hard against their opponent in the loss.

Number Three Singles Amanda Abner earned the lone Adams win on the night, fighting hard for each point throughout the two matches, fending off her opponent. Abner would win in two sets 6-4, 6-4.

Leena Mariani and Adiyah Williams both lost their singles matches 6-1, 6-0.

Number two doubles Ella Haag and Lauren Miller took it to three sets as they battled throughout the evening, trying to take down Concord. Haag and Miller won the first set 6-3 and narrowly lost the second set 6-7. They would fall in the third set 6-1.

Number one doubles of Kara Kison and Lia Gosselin lost 6-2, 6-2.

The Junior Varsity team also lots with a score of 3-8. Winners for JV included the doubles teams of Greta Neubauer & Claire Scheffler, Lexi Lipsey & Audrey Engel, and Ava Glick & Lizzy Bruening.

Adams is 1-2 to start the first week of the competitive season. The Eagles play again Friday when they host Goshen High School.
