Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Holds of Mishawaka to Secure Victory

The Baseball team was able to fend off a late 7th inning run by Mishawaka on Monday night, coming home with the 4-3 Northern Indiana Conference win.

Adams took the early lead in the top of the second. Tre Fonseca and Carsen Sult both scored off of singles hit by Bryce Martens and Jacaar Watkins.

Adding to the lead in the fourth, Tyler Rajski would score a run after another single by Watkins.

A double from Watkins on a pop fly in the top of the 7th would rove critical for the Eagles as he would go on to score, taking the Eagles up 4-0 over the Cavemen. The run would be needed as Mishawaka tried to rally in the 7th scoring 3 runs, but was not enough to take down the Eagles as the team came together to fend off the comeback attempt.

Bryce Martens pitched 7 innings taking the win for Adams. Martens would allow 5 hits while striking out 5.

As a team Adams hit the ball well, having 11 hits and allowing no errors in the field.

The Eagles improve to 2-1 in the NIC and have a record of 3-3 overall for the season. The Eagles host SB Riley High School on Wednesday night at School Field as they look to add another win for the season.
