Tuesday evening was a much better day for a softball game than last week when the Eagles and St Joseph Indians faced off last week.
Despite a positive start for the Eagles, Adams would eventually fall to St Joe 2-5 in Northern Indiana Conference play.
Haleigh Smith started things off for Adams in the first with a triple on a line drive to right field. After a ground out from Lexi Davis, Smith would go on to score the first run of the game.
Smith would score again in the 5th inning after a single from Davis again.
The Eagle defense was unable to stop the bats of St Joe which got hot on the warm spring day.
Mary Landis was the losing pitcher after pitching 5 inning, allowing 5 runs and striking out 5 batters.
The junior varsity team also lost to St Joe, being unable to hold off a late comeback from the Indians. The Eagles lost 3-4. Jena Trimberger, Sadie Sheipline, and Gabby Kovac all scored runs for Adams.
The loss is the first for Adams in NIC action, who now has a record of 2-1 in conference place and 3-5 overall.
The Lady Eagles travel to SB Riley on Wednesday night to take on the Lady Wildcats in NIC action.
