Adams softball hosted the Bremen Lady Lions on Tuesday night in Northern Indiana Conference play, but were unable to hold off the Lions, falling with a score of 4-7.
Haleigh Smith got the first run for Adams in the game in the first inning, scoring on a line drive single from Lexi Davis.
Bremen would go to score 3 runs in the 2nd and the Eagles would have to play catch up throughout the remainder of the game, making the strong attempt in the 5th inning.
Adams had bases loaded and Davis in her at bat hit a single that would have Kacey Browning and Sydney Meredith score. Regan Sheipline would also score after a passed ball attempt from Bremen, taking the Eagles to only the 2 run deficit.
Unfortunately for Adams they were unable to reel it in in the 6th or 7th innings.
Lexi Davis finished the game with 3 RBI’s and Hallie Charmat was the losing pitcher for the game, pitching all 7 innings for Adams allowing 10 hits, 7 runs, and striking out 6 batters.
On the road at Bremen the junior varsity team lost to the Lady Lions 8-14. Adams had runs scored from Emily Kidwell (2), Jenn Trimberger (2), Klaudia Gill (2), Kylie Freymuth (1), and Amanda Grainger(1).
The Eagles have a NIC record of 402 but are 5-6 overall for the season.
Adams hosts Mishawaka Marian on Wednesday night in conference play.
