The Adams Boys Golf team competed on a perfect evening for early spring golf on Wednesday afternoon at Eberhart Golf Course in Mishawaka. The Eagles posted a good score but were edged out by 1 stroke, falling to host Mishawaka Marian 167 to 168. The Eagles did defeat New Prairie who posted a score of 184.
Charlie Freel was the low individual for Adams who shot 38 on the par 34 back 9. Not far behind was Ben Thoman who shot 40. Matt Weaver shot 43, Adam Kern shot 47, and Josh Zahl shot 51.
The Junior Varsity team also placed second as well. The Eagles had a score of 217.
Nigel Pajakowski was the low scorer for Adams with a score of 45. Jacob Lutz recorded a 49, Owen Kohler scored 61, Kurt Guzik scored 62, and Ethan Leonard shot 64.
Adams is beginning Northern Indiana Conference match play with a record of 4-2 and overall through the first few weeks of the season are 7-4 overall.
The Eagles will compete on Friday at the Kaeppler Memorial Tournament at Morris Park Country CLub in South Bend.
