Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track and Field Wins 8th City Championship in a Row

For the 8th consecutive year, the Adams Girls Track & FIeld team was crowned the South Bend City Champions at the SB City Meet on Thursday night. Pulling away from the field as the night went on, Adams won with a total of 165 points, nearly 50 points more than the next closest team.

Adams won four individual City titles and one relay title.

Brianna Woods won tow events, the 100 Dash and Long Jump. Woods outran the field in the 100 with a time of 13.43. In Long Jump, Woods leapt to the distance of 16’6”

Anna Borkowski out-kicked the competition to take the championship in the 1600 Run, finishing in 5:40.79.

Alecia Parker won Shot Put with a toss of 37’10.5”

In the opening event of the night, Borkowski, Hannah Mihut, Ivie Skube, and Maddie Mischak won the 4×800 in 10:31.64.

The girls also had several runner up finishes and a few 2nd and 3rd place finishes as well.

Finishing 2n and 3rd in the 400 was Woods and Devyn Moore. Woods ran 1:02.32 and Moore finished in 1:03.15.

Ali Mihut and Shanell Exum finished 2nd and 3rd in the 300 Hurdles, going 49.85 and 50.88 respectively.

Borkowski finished 2nd in the 800 as well and Hannah Mihut finished right behind in third. Borkowski ran 2:31.53 and Mihut in 2:35.18.

Moore would also finish as runner up in High Jump, jumping 4’6”.

Maddie Mischak was the runner up in the 3200, finishing with a strong time of 12:29.67.

The entire team effort helped the team secure another win it its current win streak and bringing home the 22nd City Championship to Adams.

Adams competes again on Saturday at the Goshen Relays at Goshen High School.
