Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track and Field Crowned Goshen Relays Champions


For the fourth time in five years, the Adams Girls Track & Field team was crowned the Goshen Relays Champions on Saturday afternoon at the 30th running of the Girls Goshen Relays.

Adams took the win with a score of 87 points.

The Goshen Relays in a unique event for the Eagles, where all the running events on the track are relays and all of the individual field events are also relays as well. Field events from three athletes are combined, and the schools with the best efforts win.

It was a total team effort from distance runners, sprinters, hurdlers, and field events athletes.

The Lady Eagles took home three “relays” championships. The Shot Put relay of Alecia Parker, Makiah McCain, and Heather Bowling combined for a distance of 92’11” to take home first.

Claire Butler, Katie Hensell, and Catalina Suarez combined for 11’0” in the Pole Vault relay to take first.

On the track, the 4×400 relay finished first in the time of 4:16.58. Brianna Woods, Ali Mihut, Jordan Mihut, and Devyn Moore would take the win for Adams.

It was not just the first place relays that secured the win however. Every other relay either finished second or third to help the team take home the win.

The Distance Medley Relay (1200-400-800-1600) finished as runner up in 13:51.46. Ivie Skube, Hannah Mihut, Destiny Brown, and Maddie Mischak ran the relay.

Woods, Moore, A. Mihut would come back with Shanell Exum in the 4×200 to finish second in 1:13.66.

Hensell and Butler, joined by Kierra Watford and Shania Chatman finished in 3rd place in the Shuttle Hurdle relay.

In the 4×800 relay, finishing in 10:44.78, H Mihut, Skube, Mischak and Mary Clare Elliot finished in second place.

The Freshman/Sophomore Sprint Medley Relay (100-100-200-400) of J. Mihut, Exum, Taylor Baker, and Lynda White placed second.

The last event of the track was the Intermediate Medley Relay (200-200-400-800) where Moore, Watford, H. Mihut, and Skube would run 4:44.46 to finish second.

The High Jump Relay of Chatman, Moore and Elliot finished in second.

The Long Jump relay of Chatman, Woods, and VaLiyah Grundy finished second as well.

Alecia Parker, Heather Bowling, and Emily Murton finished third in the Discus Relay.
