Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track and Field Finishes 5th at NIC Championship Meet


The Girls Track & Field team competed on Tuesday night at Mishawaka High School in the Northern Indiana Conference Championship Meet. This meet determines the final standings for the year in the NIC as well as All Conference Honors for student athletes.

As a team, the Lady Eagles finished in 5th place with 42 points.

Adams had one Conference Champion, Alecia Parker in Shot Put. Parker won for the second year in a row. This year, Parker out threw the competition with a toss of 36’7”

Parker also placed 5th in Discus with a throw of 105’5” Also placing in Discus was Emily Murton who threw 90’11” good for 8th place.

The only other All Conference finish for Adams was the final event of the evening, the 4×400 Relay. Ali Mihut, Devyn Moore, Jordan Mihut, and Brianna Woods ran a time of 4:16.39, which earned them a third place finish and Honorable Mention All Conference.

There were a few athletes and relays that just missed out on making All Conference, but performed quite well.

Maddie Mishack narrowly was beat at the line in the 3200 Run, finishing in 4th in a new personal best of 12:16.80.

Brianna Woods finished 4th in the 400 Dash in 1:02.71.

The 4×800 Relay of Hannah Mihut, Anna Borkowski, Ivie Skube, and Woods also finished in 4th place with a time of 10:24.

In the 300 Hurdles Ali Mihut and Shanell Exum placed for the Lady Eagles. Mihut ran 51.12 for 5th place and Exum finished in 7th place in 51.45.

With the final standings in the NIC determined in the meet, Adams finishes 5th out of 13 teams in the conference. In dual meets, Adams had a record of 4 wins and 2 losses.

The Lady Eagles will compete next Tuesday as postseason action begins in the IHSAA Sectional Meet hosted at Penn High School.
