It was a duel between two Northern Indiana Conference opponents on Wednesday evening at School Field as the Adams Baseball team hosted the New Prairie Cougars.
Neither team was able to bring each other down as the night stretched into the stretch. Entering the bottom of the 7th, Adams was looking to secure the win. Kendall Sanders would give the Eagles a chance as he was able to reach base after an interference call on the New Prairie catcher. Sanders would move to second after Ray Calhoun was walked, putting Adams in even better position to score. It was Jacaar Watkins who would bat in Sanders, hitting a line drive single, bringing in Sander for the run and to win the game for the Eagles 1-0.
Adams continues to have success in the NIC, with 7 wins and 3 losses in conference play and has a record of 10-7 overall. The Eagles will play at Lakeshore High School on Thursday night.
