The Northern Indiana Conference Girls Tennis tournament began across the conference on Wednesday evening. In their divisional crossover match, the Adams Girls Tennis team hosted the John Glenn Falcons. Adams won with a score of 3-2.
All three Adams singles players won their respective matches. Leena Mariani won 6-3, 6-3; Adiyah Williams won 6-0, 6-2; and Amanda Abner won 6-1, 6-0.
Both Adams doubles teams fell however, but not without battling to the bitter end, taking both matches to three sets. Kara Kison & Lauren Miller lost 6-4. 4-6, 4-6 and Lia Gosselin and Kyara Soria lost 1-6, 6-4, 1-6.
Adams improves to a record of 6 win and 1 loss against NIC teams and a record of 8 – 5 overall.
The Junior Varsity team also defeated John Glenn with a score of 8-3. Wining for Adams was Anna Moss, Scarlett Day, and Gracie Fourman at singles and the doubles pairings of Greta Neubauer & Claire Scheffler, Laila Buck Adams & Lizzy Bruening, Audrey Engel & Lily Kahn, Veronica karban & Grace Yarger, and Cassidy Richardson & Izzy Frank.
The Lady Eagles are scheduled to continue play in the NIC Tournament on Thursday at New Prairie High School.
