Girls Junior Varsity Tennis, Girls Varsity Tennis · Girls Tennis Wins Over New Prairie in NIC Tournament


The Adams Girls Tennis team competed in the second round of the Northern Indiana Conference tournament on Friday night at New Prairie High School. The Eagles were able to survive the Cougars, taking down New Prairie 3-2.

Two of three Adams singles players took wins. Adiyah Williams won 6-0, 2-0 and Amanda Abner won 7-6, 6-2. Leena Mariani lost her matchup 1-6, 2-6.

Number two doubles  Lia Gosselin and Kyara Soria took the last win for Adams, taking it to three sets and winning 7-6, 3-6, 6-3. Number one doubles Kara Kison and Lauren Miller fell in three sets 6-2, 0-6, 1-6.

Adams won both of their matches in the NIC tournament defeating divisional crossover teams Glen and New Prairie.

The Adams junior varsity players also won as well with a score of 6-2. At singles Anna Moss, Gracie Fourman, and Lizzy Bruening all won. Winning at double was Ella Haag & Scarlett Day, Gretta Neubauer & Claire Scheffler, and Cassidy Richardson & Izzy Frank.

The Lady Eagles had 7 wins and 1 loss against NIC teams this season and the IHSAA tournament will begin for Adams next week.
