Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track and Field Finishes 4th at IHSAA Sectional; Several Qualify for Regional

The championship season began on Tuesday night for the Adams Girls Track & Field team, competing in the IHSAA Sectional Meet at Penn High School.

The top 3 in each event advance to the Regional meet next week at Warsaw High School.

As a team, the Lady Eagles finished in 4th place with 54 points.

A total of two relays and three individuals will represent John Adams, qualifying for the Regional.

Alecia Parker was crowned the Shot Put Champion. More impressive however was Parker breaking the School Record. Parker destroyed the previous record by over a foot with her throw of 40’11”

Maddie Mischak finished as the runner up in the 3200 run, setting a new personal best time of 12:04.29.

The last individual qualifier was Brianna Woods who finished in third place in the 400 Dash with a time of 1:02.33.

The 4×800 Relay finished in third place, advancing to the regional with a time of 10:21.17. The relay was run by Hannah Mihut, Anna Borkowski, Ivie Skube, and MaryClare Elliot.

Also finishing third and advancing was the 4×400 Relay. Ali Mihut, Devyn Moore, Woods, and Elliot ran a time of 4:11.48.

Also scoring for Adams but not advancing to next week for Adams was Parker in the Discus with a throw of 91’11” finishing in 6th place; Shanell Exum finishing 5th in the 200 Dash in 27.52; Anna Borkowski in 6th in the 800 Run in 2:29.96; Hannah Mihut in the 800 Run finishing in 7th with 2:40.2, Ali Mihut in the 300 Hurdles in 51.42 for 6th place; and the 4×100 Relay in 6th place in 53.33.

Adams will compete in the Warsaw Regional beginning at 6:00 PM on Tuesday May 21.
