The Adams Softball team closed out the 2019 regular season with a Northern Indiana Conference win on Wednesday night at SB Clay. In a quick, speedy game, the Lady Eagles defeated the Colonials 4-2.
Lexi Davis drove in Regan Sheipline for the first score of the game. From there the Eagles would never look back, being in control for the entire game.
In the third inning, Davis popped up a double, bringing Sadie Sheipline to score.
In the fifth inning Adams had two runners on. R Sheipline hit a hard ground ball single, allowing Hallie Charmat to score. S Sheipline advanced to score as well but was thrown out at the plate.
The final run of the game was scored in the sixth inning. After tagging up, Jenna Trimberger scored off of a pop fly from Sydnee Meredith.
Mary Landis walked away as the winning pitcher after pitching a complete game allowing only 2 runs off of 2 hits all while striking out 14 Colonial Batters.
The Lady Eagles will compete on Monday evening in the Mishawaka 4A Sectional against SB Riley at Baker Park. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
