Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track Finishes 14th at Regional, Parker Wins Shot Put Championship


The road to the State Meet in Bloomington ran through the Warsaw Regional Meet for the Adams Girls Track & Field team on Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles, who have had a representative down at the State Meet since 1997, kept the streak alive with Alecia Parker winning the Regional Championship in Shot Put and advancing to the State Finals. Parker threw 40’3.5” to win the Regional.

Both the 4×800 and 4×400 Relays placed in the meet but did not qualify for next week’s State Meet. The 4×800 of Anna Borkowski, Hannah Mihut, Ivie Skube, and MaryClare Elliot finished 6th place, coming out of the first heat, in a time of 10:27.06.

The 4×400 Relay finished in 6th as well in 4:17.83. Ali Mihut, Devyn Moore, MaryClare Elliot and Shanell Exum ran for Adams.

Also competing but not scoring for Adams was Anna Borkowski in the 800 Run. Borkowski finished with a time of 2:36.68, good for 12th place. Finishing 14th in the 3200 Run was Maddie Mischak who ran 12:25.64.

As a team Adams finished tied for 14th with 16 points.

Parker will throw in next week’s State Meet on Saturday June 1 at Indiana University Bloomington.
