Eagles News · Bob Tull Approved as John Adams Dean of Students and Athletics

As the new school year quickly approaches, the John Adams Athletic Department would like to welcome the new Dean of Students & Athletics Mr. Robert Tull. 

Mr. Tull was approved as the new athletic administrator for John Adams High School by the South Bend School Board on June 24.

Tull was born in South Bend and has lived in the area for many years. Tull is a graduate of SB St Joseph HS and the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Tull has a long history in education and athletics. Most recently, Tull served as the Assistant Principal of Student Affairs at SB St Joseph High School. Mr. Tull has also taught social studies at Mishawaka Marian High School and Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Athletically, Tull has served as an assistant athletic director, sports information director, sports camp director, and has had a successful coaching career as well. Tull served as a Graduate Assistant Football Coach at the University of Notre Dame, Head Football Coach at Mishawka Marian, and an assistant football and wrestling coach at Moeller HS from the 1980s – 2010s.

The entire John Adams community is looking forward to working with Mr. Tull as the new Dean of Student and Athletics including JA Principal Mr. Jim Seitz. “We are very excited about the addition of Bob Tull as Dean of Students/Athletic Administrator.  Mr. Tull brings with him a wide range of experiences in education and athletics. He has played and coached at the highest levels and is a true educator.  We are confident that Mr. Tull will continue the tradition of excellence that has existed at John Adams High School for 78 years.”

Mr. Tull has a connection with South Bend Schools, attending Madison Elementary and completing his student teaching at SB Washington High School. Mr Tull and his wife Meg have seven children and one grandson and his son just graduated from SB Clay this spring.

While Mr. Tull does not “officially” begin until July 29, he has been hard at work since the end of June getting ready for the upcoming school year and is excited for the new opportunity to work with John Adams Athletics.
