Competing on the national stage is always a tremendous honor and an extreme privilege only a few athletes get to do. Two John Adams Divers will be competing at the USA Diving Junior National Championships at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN from July 30 – August 6. Both Lindsay Gizzi and Katie Hensell will compete in the National Championships.
Gizzi, who will be a junior this fall broke the diving school record last winter. Gizzi came to compete at zones, dominating the competition and finishing in first place with a score of 397.05. Gizzi also competed in the 3 Meter at regions but finished in 25th with a score of 340.10.
Hensell will also be joining Gizzi at the National Championships in the 14-15 age group. Hensell will be a sophomore this fall. At Regions, Hensell competed in both 1 Meter and 3 Meter diving, advancing to zones in each. In 1 Meter, she finished 16th with 270.15 and in 3 Meter finished 11th with 279.15.
