The rain held off for the Adams Girls Soccer team to open the season on Tuesday night as they hosted the LaVille Lancers at Tallman Beyrer Field. Besides it begin a great evening outside, it turned into a great evening for the Lady Eagles as well. Adams defeated LaVille in a blow out win 8-1.
Within the first 10 minutes of action, the Eagles were already up 2-0. Anna Borkowski scored in the 6th minute off an assist from Jordan Mihut. Anna Rosato added another in the 9th minute as well. Carla Hernandez had the assist.
Adams would go to score 5 goals in the final 8 minutes of the first half to enter halftime up 7-0. Emilie Vereb scored in the 32nd minute with the assist coming from Borkowski. Just a few minutes later in the 35th minute Nyah Smith scored. Veronica Karban had the assist for Smith and would get her own goal a minute later after the assist from Rosato. Rosato scored again in the 38th minute. Hernandez scored to close out the half in the 39th minute.
In the second half Borkowski added another goal in the 53rd minute and Trynitie Cox scored in the 76th minute.
There were a total of 30 shots on goal and 7 corner kicks for the Eagles in the game.
In goal, Makiah McCain had 3 saves for Adams.
Adams begins the season 1-0. The Eagles will play again this weekend in the St Joseph Lady Indian Invite. Adams takes on Lake Central in their first game Friday evening at Newton Park.
