It was the start of the regular season for the John Adams Volleyball team on Tuesday night in the annual SBCSC Tournament hosted at Washington High School.
The Lady Eagles had to matches in the opening day of play.
In the first match, Adams took on the Elkhart Central Blazers, and narrowly lost to the Blazers in two sets. The Eagles fell 16-25 in the first set and battled until the bitter end in the second set, but eventually lost 24-26.
Against the Blazers, Megan Kroll had 2 aces and Sophia Salas had 8 digs.
In the final match of the evening, Adams defeated Mishawaka Christian Athletic Club in two sets 25-14 and 25-22.
In the win Claire Scheffler had 6 kills and SeSe Scheffler added 7 additional kills. Sophia Salas added to her stats from the first match with 9 additional digs against MCAC.
Adams opens up the season 1-1.
The Eagles will finish play in the tournament on Thursday night. Their opponent is to be determined based on play in night two of the tournament on Wednesday night.
