After a cancellation earlier in the week, the boys soccer team was finally able to open the 2019 regular season on Thursday night, playing at home against Elkhart Memorial.
On a night perfect for prep athletics, the Eagles and Chargers competed in a hard fought and very physically and demanding game. Unfortunately for the Eagles, however, it was Elkhart Memorial who would walk away victorious, with Adams falling 0-1.
Despite the loss, both the Adams offense and defense worked well as a unit, playing well together and improving as the game went on. The defense stayed solid working together and the offense had many chances to put it in the goal, ending the game with a total of 9 shots on goal.
The Junior Varsity team did start the night off with a win, defeating the Chargers with a score of 3-1.
Adams will have another home game on Saturday morning when they host Portage High School with JV beginning at 10:00 AM and Varsity to follow at 11:30.
