It was a wonderful day of non conference soccer for the Adams Boys Soccer team as they hosted Portage High School at Tallman Beyrer Field.
The Eagles were in command throughout most of the game, controlling and possessing the ball through 70% of the game. With this domination, Adams was able to get a total of 30 shots on the Portage goal. Connor McKenna had an impressive 5 shots, including 4 crosses in the box, but could not get any to reach the back of the net.
After a slight misstep and trailing late in the game, Adams was able to get on the board when Arturo Ortiz was able to strike in the 77th minute to tie the game.
As time was expiring, Jack Andrews had an incredible chance to put the game away, but was unable to get it done as the final horn sounded.
In only its second game of the year the Eagles have played well and compiled a record of 0-1–1.
In the Junior Varsity game, Adams and Portage tied as well, ending with a score of 3-3. Two of Adams goals came in the first half from Freshman Enzo Gizzi.
The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday night when they host crosstown rival SB Riley at Tallman Beyrer Field.
