The atmosphere was buzzing at John Adams High School on Monday night as the Eagles Volleyball team played for the first time of the season at home. Adams took on the Eagles of Elkhart Christian Academy.
It ended up being a great night for Adams, as the team won in three sets.
Adams pulled away in the first set to win 25-19. It was an exciting second set as the two flocks of Eagles battled it out. Adams trailed early but battled their way back into it as the set went on. Going back and forth, Adams would go would win 29-27. In the third set Adams won 25-18.
It was a true team effort, as Adams came together to pull out the win. Claire Scheffler ended the night with 8 kills and 5 aces. SeSe Scheffler added an additional 9 kills. Sophia Salas finished the night with 23 digs. With assists, CC Johnson had 18 and Megan Kroll had 15.
With the win, Adams improves to 5-3 for the season.
In the Junior Varsity contest, Adams fell in two sets 17-25, 16-25.
The Freshman team also played on Monday night as well on the road at Concord, taking on Concord and Northwood. The freshman defeated Concord 25-22, 25-12 but fell to Northwood 19-25, 19-25.
Adams will play again at home on Tuesday night when they host Concord HS.
