The atmosphere was abuzz at Tallman Beyrer Field on Tuesday night for the Adams Boys Soccer team as the Eagles hosted the SB Riley Wildcats. The in town rivalry once again was an exciting match up between the two teams.
Adams would not let their foes win however, defeating the Wildcats with a final score of 2-1.
In the 23rd minute of the game Arturo Ortiz connected with Micah Fourman, allowing Fourman to put the Eagles on the board with the 1-0 lead.
Just after halftime, Ortiz scored a goal of his own with the assist coming from Fourman.
The Eagles outshot Riley 33-11, showing their dominance of the ball offensively.
Riley tried to claw their way back into the game late in the night, scoring in the final minutes of play. It was the Adams defense though that kept a calm composure the entire game, even with the intensity of the final minutes.
Adams goalkeeper Fabrizio Prano had two amazing saves as the Wildcats attempted their comeback, helping to save the game for Adams.
Adams is now 1-1-1 for the season and 1-0 against Northern Indiana Conference teams.
The Eagles junior varsity team was victorious, defeating Riley 4-0.
The Eagles will play on the road on Thursday when they take on yet another in town rival, SB Washington at Washington.
