Saturday morning provided the perfect cool fall temperatures for the Girls Cross Country team as they ran in the Penn Invitational.
Running against many of the best teams in the northern half of the state, the Lady Eagles finished in 10th place overall, scoring 284.
Ivie Skube, who has ran well in the last few weeks led Adams across the finish line at the meet. Skube finished 36th overall in a time of 21:33. Finishing not far behind was Maddie Mischak. Mischak ran a time of 21:59 which was good for 43rd place.
Claire Stowe was next for Adams in 23:47 followed by Addison Skube (24:16), Monica Caponigro (25: 34), Hannah Connell (25:38), and Betsy Leija Castaneda (27:54).
The junior varsity race finished the day up at the meet, with the Eagles finishing in 8th place as a team with a score of 222. Kimberly Plata was the first Adams runner to cross the line in 25:16.
The Lady Eagles will run again on Thursday night in the South Bend City Meet at Erskine Park Golf Club. Adams is the defending champions in the meet and have won the City Championship the last three years.
