Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Fights Hard at Westview Invitational

Bright and early Saturday morning the Adams Volleyball team headed off to compete in the Westview Invitational. The day turned out to be a day of tough competition, where the team finished 2-2, and battled it out in every single set of every match.

The Lady Eagles opened up play against Wawasee in the first match of the day. Adams did not give in without a fight. The Eagles and Warriors battled it out in two sets. Adams narrowly lost however, falling 23-25, and gutting it out in the second set 29-31.

Next Adams took on Westview, where Adams and Westview took it to three sets. Adams won the first set 25-20 but struggled offensively in the second and third sets, losing 11-25 and 8-25.

The Lady Eagles were able to rebound however as the afternoon went on, putting the losses behind them. Adams played Ft Wayne Southside next, and took control of the match. The Eagles defeated the Archers soundly in two sets 25-6 and 25-8.

Adams capped the day off with a win over the Eastside Blazers. The Eagles won in two sets 25-12, 25-12.

Despite the early loss in the day, Adams played well as a team, never giving in and never playing with a defeated attitude.

The Eagles are 7-7 for the year overall. Adams will play next on Tuesday when they travel to take on SB St Joseph in Northern Indiana Conference action.
