The Adams Volleyball team looked for city bragging rights on Tuesday night when the Lady Eagles traveled to SB Riley to compete against the Wildcats in Northern Indiana Conference play.
Both teams battled it out, fighting hard for each point and making it an exciting night of volleyball in South Bend. Unfortunately for Adams, the Lady Eagles fell just short in several of the sets, losing the match in four sets 3-1.
Adams narrowly lost in the opening set with a score of 23-25. The Eagles came back in the second set and won soundly 25-15. In the next two sets, Adams and Riley went back and forth with the Lady Wildcats edging Adams out in each of the last two sets 22-25.
For Adams, Claire Scheffler recorded 11 kills, CC Johnson had 32 assists on Adams points, and Sopha Salas had 32 digs.
Both the junior varsity team and the freshman team were victorious in their matches. The junior varsity Eagles won in two sets 25-12, 25-7. The freshman team won easily 25-7, 25-13.
Adams will play again on Thursday when they host the Bremen Lions.
