As the heart of the volleyball season schedule has come around, the Adams Eagles have fought hard against many of the best local teams. Thursday night was no different when the Lady Eagles hosted Bremen in Northern Indiana Conference play. The two teams would not give up all night, and it made for a great evening of volleyball.
Adams started the night out hot, winning the first set 25-16. Adams and Bremen would fight it out in the second set, with Bremen winning 22-25. Adams fell in the third set 18-25 taking it to the critical fourth set. Each team competed well, going back and forth, but it was the Eagles who fell in the set 22-25, losing the match 1-3.
With the four sets and close matchup, several Adams players had impressive stats that helped the team grow as the season progresses. Sophia Salas had 45 digs, Claire Shceffler had 32 digs, and Sydney Lewandowski had 23. SeSe Scheffler had 11 kills for the Eagles and Claire Scheffler added another 5. SeSe Scheffler also had 8 blocks for Adams and Amya Shuppert had 6 as well. MEgan Kroll ended the night with 17 assists.
Both the Junior Varsity and Freshman teams won their matches. The junior varsity Eagle won in two sets 25-24, 25-22 and the freshman team won in two sets 25-20, 25-20.
