County pride was on the line on Saturday morning at the Elkhart / St Joseph County Clash. The Girls Cross Country team ran in the final installment of the race hosted at Oxbow County Park.
The meet featured not only the teams racing against each other, but the two neighboring county racing against each other as well.
As a team, Adams finished in 12th place with a score of 237.
Maddie Mischak was the first Eagle to cross the finish line in the race. Mischak finished in 18th place in the highly competitive race in a time of 20:59. Ivie Skube was next for Adams finishing in 27th place in 21:30.
Delaney Packard (24:11), Claire Stowe (24:17), Addison Skube (24:33), Hannah Connell (24:57), and Betsy Leija Cataneda (26:51) represented Adams in the race as well.
In the County Race, Elkhart County beat St Joseph County 42-67.
The Junior Varsity team finished in 8th place in the junior varsity race. Adams finished with a score of 213. Monica Caponigro was the first for Adams to finish in the race. Caponigro ran a time of 25:00 which was good for 28th place.
The Lady Eagles will run again next weekend in the highly competitive New Prairie Invitational, one of, if not the largest high school sporting events in the nation.
