Tuesday night was full of action for the Boys Soccer team with Senior Night and an action packed thriller as the team took on SB St Joseph.
Prior to the start of the game, the Eagles honored their six seniors for their leadership and all they have helped contribute to the team. Adams honored Nezar Fassali, Chase Coen, Micha Fourman, Arturo Ortiz, Grant Wiarda, and David Zimmerman.
When the game started afterwards, the stands stayed packed for the entire evening as the Eagles and Indians played hard against each other. Both the Adams offense and defense worked well together, putting pressure on the St Joe goal as well as fighting off any St Joe advance that game down field as the night went on.
Both teams were scoreless after the end of regulation. In overtime, Adams did not give up or relent on their attack on the St Joe goal. Both overtime periods were still not enough for either team to score and the game would be decided by penalty kicks.
With the fans lining the fences at Tallman Beyrer Field, the Eagles tried to secure what would be a big Northern Indiana Conference win. Unfortunately for Adams, St Joe was able to get just one to many by the Eagles in the shootout, and the Eagles fell with a score of 0-1.
Adams will play again in NIC play when they travel to SB Clay on Thursday evening.
